Individual Table Tennis Competition!

Yesterday, eight fantastic children took part in Basingstoke and Deane’s under 11 individual table tennis competition. The children played against several opponents from different schools around Hampshire and were able to compete with skill and confidence. Some of the other children attending the competition are current County Champions in table tennis, so I was extremely proud of our children as they showed SUPERB growth mindset and perseverance. They really should feel delighted with themselves. After the main matches had been played, the children were grouped into a ‘main group’ and a ‘consolation’ group. Liberty and Sienna both made it to the final of the girls’ consolation group with Sienna just pipping Liberty to the post to win the girls consolation category. Fin made it all the way to the semi-final of the boy’s consolation group and played brilliantly. Orla and Curtis competed extremely well and progressed to the main group of the competitions where they faced some tough contenders. Both children held their heads very high and represented Great Binfields extremely well. Connor, Olli and Tallulah also played with fantastic confidence and skill but were unlucky with some of their matched competitors. Thank you for those parents who attended and supported their children. It was lovely to see the pride of your faces too! A big thank you to Ms Rogers too who taught my class for the day, allowing me to take the children along to participate.

Have a look at some of our photos to see what we got up to!
