Once again, Year One is coming to the end of another brilliant topic - The Secret Garden. This topic has given us the chance to really use our imaginations to create unique and special versions of our own secret gardens and Narnia-style lands. We have spent a lot of time outside enjoying our school grounds and to celebrate the end of this topic, we had a Secret Garden Day. The children took part in various activities such as creating Kandinsky styled flowers, decorating their own flower pot, creating their own Secret Garden and planting cress. Unfortunately, our outside activity was postponed due to the weather. Luckily, we were able to do this on Friday! We explored our woodlands and had our very own treasure hunt! The children had lots of challenges to face in these activities but had so much fun completing them. The Year One team were really impressed with their creative and engaged attitude to their learning. What a wonderful day! Have a look at the photos to see what we got up to.
