Starting EYFS at Great Binfields Primary School

Welcome to Great Binfields Primary School - We are looking forward to welcoming your child into school in September 2020.

Have a look at the information provided in order to support your child's transition from Nursery to Reception (EYFS).

Here you will find information about our routines as well as our adapted transition sessions that we have planned because of the current lockdown situation we find ourselves in.

Update September 2020

We hope that you have all had a good summer and are looking forward to starting school over the next few weeks.  Here are some useful bits of information about the first transition visits.

All of the dates for your child's visits and starting school dates can be found on the email you received informing you of your child's class.  However as a reminder, the first transition dates are:

Autumn birthdays - Thursday 3rd September 1.15- 2.45 pm

Spring birthdays - Friday 4th September 1.15 - 2.45 pm

Summer birthdays - Monday 7th September 1.15-2.45 pm.

Each child will then have 3 more transition visits before their first full day at school.

On the transition visit please do not send you child in with anything.  We will provide your child with a new school water bottle.  You need to drop you child off at the Year R gate at the front of the school.  A staff member will meet your child there so we should be easy to spot.  At the end of the session we will bring the children back to the gate for pick up.

Over the next few days you will receive your microsoft teams invite for your home/teacher meeting.

We hope you find this information useful and we look forward to meeting you all over the coming week.

Please note that the 'Transition' page is not currently valid on our PowerPoint above due to the current Covid19 lockdown situation. We are working hard on planning and providing alternative transition plans for your child if this period of Covid19 Lockdown is extended into the Summer term before your child/ren are due to start with us.
