On Tuesday, Year 5 were invited by GIST to take part in Road Safety Awareness week. When we arrived we were greeted by two of the lorry drivers who start work at 2 in the morning! We then learnt about being safe next to a road especially when lorries are passing. Did you know a GIST lorry weighs 44 tonnes? That's the same as 76 cows!

We then went down into the car park and had the opportunity to go in one of the lorries to show us what a driver can and can't see. We were even lucky enough to be given a GIST bag, with a pencil, sticker and keyring. We had a great time and will certainly remember to be more safe when we go out.
