Travelling to School

Travel to School

As a school we have to create a school travel plan in connection with Hampshire County Council. This is to see how our parents and children travel to school with the view to reducing the cars on our roads when dropping off and picking up from school. This will create a safer environment for our children.

With your help, Hampshire County Council will support the Great Binfields community in promoting safer and more environmentally friendly routes to school. We would appreciate it if you could complete the link below to give Hampshire a picture of how our children travel to school.

If you are unsure of where you can park and stride please see the map below to assist you.

We have two Road Safety Officers in our school. They have received Hampshire County Council training so that they can teach our children how to be safe when they are out and about and especially when they are near roads. They also work hard to make our parents and carers aware of how they should park more safely when near our school and also encourage our children and parents to be healthy by walking to school whenever possible. Alongside this, we help to promote road safety within school by appointing responsible children to the role of Junior Road Safety Officers (JRSOs). The children help to educate and train their peers from across the school on the awareness and importance of road safety.
