Sycamore and Willow Class (Year 2)

A very warm welcome to all our Year 2 children and families in Sycamore and Willow Class!

We have had a fantastic start to the new school year and have already been busy getting stuck into our first topic, ‘The Great Fire of London’. The children have shown such enthusiasm and curiosity, and we have been really impressed by the wealth of facts they are already keen to share. It has been a wonderful start to the year!

As the children settle into Year 2, we have been talking about our Zones of Regulation and how we might be feeling at different points throughout the day. We have particularly focused on how we feel when we first arrive at school in the morning and after lunchtime. We encourage families to familiarise themselves with the Zones so that conversations about feelings and emotional wellbeing can continue at home.

PE Days

Year 2 PE takes place on:

• Tuesday – Outdoor PE

• Thursday – Indoor PE

Children should come to school wearing their PE kit on these days and will remain in their kit for the school day.
