Learning Together, Achieving Forever

KS1 Football Festival Success

We are all beaming with pride at the Key Stage 1 children who represented Great Binfields today at the Football Festival. With the wind and rain to contend with too, our team of ten determined footballers shone in their team work, commitment and decision making skills throughout the six games that they played. Drawing the first match 0-0, the rest of the games were won with a significant lead! A personal highlight was seeing the children shine as true sportsmen and women. Demonstrating our key school values, in one of the games (where we quickly began winning 5-0) team GBPS decided to give the other team more chances by letting them have every centre pass instead of taking it in turns. This was child initiated and helped the game be much more enjoyable for both teams. For our year 1s, it was their first time at a Football Festival and it was great to see their confidence grow. It was also lovely to see the year 2s supporting them with true team spirit! A very BIG well done to all who took part, this is a fantastic achievement and you should all be very proud of yourselves. Thank you to those parents and grandparents who attended and supported their children, it was lovely to see the pride in your faces too! Thanks to Phil Jeffs for organising this event. Miss Rendall, Miss Rogers  and I thoroughly enjoyed being there to support them.
