Today Y2 had a design technology day. We were thinking about what food items we would take with us for a picnic on the seaside. We had to think carefully about our ideas and we based them on a seaside theme. We begun our day by making savoury wraps. We used cheese spread, ham, lettuce and sweetcorn to create seaside pictures on our wraps. Next we made edible cake decorations for cupcakes. We thought carefully about what designs we could have. There were a wide range of unique designs - from fish made with orange segments to beach umbrellas made from skittles! In the afternoon we then had a go at making fruit sculptures where we used fruit to make seaside pictures. Once again designs were all very impressive! Overall the children all had a great day exploring and enjoyed being creative with a seaside picnic.
