  • Fun visit to Paulton's Park!

Mon 15 Jun 2015 Bernadette Stout

Our VI children spent a wonderful day at Paulton's Park last Wednesday, thanks once again to the generosity of the Rotary club, who supplied the tickets and the delicious packed lunches!

Our younger children had a whale of a time in Pepper Pig land, while the big guys tried out all the exciting rollercoasters like 'The Edge.'

Everybody got soaking wet on the log flume, helped along by a couple of our fun loving children who squirted them as they came down the slide!

The experience gave the children the chance to socialise together and meet new friends, as well as catch up with old ones! We were lucky enough to meet James Morgan, (a previous pupil); it was so nice to hear his news of his new school, and all the children were excited to see him again.

On the return journey to school, a minibus full of happy children were full of chatter, comparing notes about their favourite rides!

A good day was had by all!

Thank you too, to Miss Lyddon who drove the minibus for us.

And thank you once again Rotary Club, for providing our VI pupils with an extra special day out!

  • Proud of our Year 3/4 Rugby Team

Wed 10 Jun 2015 Miss Rogers

Our year 3/4 rugby worked tremendously well as a team yesterday and were praised by many of the other schools for their superb passing and team work skills. The children won all of their group games - only conceding 4 tries in 7 games. They won 3-1 in the quarters and it was very close in the semis but unfortunately the final score was 4-3 to Oakley (a team we won against in our group!). We did however win the 3rd place play off with a score of 3-2. So the team were deservedly really chuffed and are proudly wearing their bronze medals around school today.

    So proud of you all!

  • Year 6 Think Safe

Tue 09 Jun 2015 Miss Collins
The Year 6 children had a fantastic morning at 'Think Safe' in Bramley today. During the morning they learned about: Fire Safety, First Aid, Trading Standards, Road Safety, Stranger Danger and much more. Take a look at some of the photos from their First Aid and Fire Safety sessions - they definitely enjoyed bandaging each other up!
  • Outdoors Week

Mon 08 Jun 2015 Mrs Barnhouse
Key Stage 1 had a great time being in the outdoors last week. Not only were they lucky enough to have the Scouts come to help teach them about tracking, building fires and shelter building, they also learnt about identifying trees, wild plants and minibeasts, developed their sketching skills and wrote stories about their very own Stick Man they made. Year 2 also collected data to find out about the most popular minibeast they could find. By the end of the week I think there were a lot of very tired children but they had all had a great experience which they will hopefully remember for many years to come. I wonder what their favourite part of the week was...have a look at the pictures and see what you think!
  • Butser Farm

Fri 05 Jun 2015 Miss Rogers

The children in Willow and Sycamore Class had a great time yesterday and the trip really aided their topic learning. I am sure that they came home and told you all about it. Their learning behaviours whilst out and about was simply brilliant. Well done chaps!

Check out the photos below to see what they got up to.  It certainly looks as if they enjoyed themselves.

  • Year 6 Bikeability

Fri 05 Jun 2015 Mrs Hill
This week our Year 6's have thoroughly enjoyed their Bikeability session. Each day they learnt new skills to prepare them for cycling safely on the road. They also learnt how to check their bike is safe and working properly before using it. As you can see from the pictures, they all really enjoyed themselves.
  • Butser Farm Visit for Year3/4

Thu 04 Jun 2015 Jules Rogers

I am sure that Year3/4 will give you more of an update but I have been reliably informed that the children are getting a lot out of today's visit to Butser Ancient Farm which supports their current topic learning. As you can see from the photo sent through to me - they are having a pit-stop to refuel ready for more learning this afternoon!!

Watch this space for a proper recount of the trip along with further photos.
