Amélie's Hanukah Assembly

On Tuesday, Amélie of Pine Class delivered a superb assembly to the whole school about the Jewish festival of Hanukah. Amélie put lots of time and effort into preparing a PowerPoint presentation and finding video clips to show to the children.

During the assembly, Amélie explained to us about the history of Hanukah and how it is celebrated around the world today. She described how her family celebrates Hanukah and even brought in a Menorah (See photo) and a Jewish hat called a Kippa. Did you know that each candle of the Menorah has a different meaning?

We were all very impressed with how confident Amélie was at speaking in front of the whole school and would like to thank her for sharing a lovely assembly with us!
