We love to ensure that The Arts are celebrated and taught throughout the year at our school and part of this means having an Art Festival Week. This wonderful week which starts on the 22nd May this year is themed 'At the Seaside.' We have 3 guest artists working with us throughout the week who are working with different year groups plus we have a whole host of different art and music techniques to share with our children. Just like in previous years, the end of the week culminates in a Art Festival Exhibition where all of our school community are invited to come in and share what the children have been learning and experiencing throughout the week.
We also have some optional arty themed home learning for you. Look really carefully at the picture below.
Respond to the ‘At The Seaside’ painting by Laurence Stephan Lowry in any way you like. We will also be responding to this picture across the school. You may choose a certain technique e.g. painting, oil pastels, watercolour. You may choose to create a sculpture or respond through performing arts such as a song, dance or drama. We look forward to sharing your individual responses! We will be finding out more about him as an artist too!
This home learning will not be marked, but will be shared within your child's class and at the Art Festival Exhibition itself on Friday 26th from 3.10-4pm.
We look forward to seeing you and the rest of your family for this very special occasion.
