Some of our children visit Southampton Art Gallery
Our children really enjoyed their art gallery experience today. They not only produced a superb wire sculpture which are all now displayed in our library at school but they saw some beautiful art within the gallery itself. A huge thank you to the Education Team for making our day so special. The children really appreciated the different styles of art and the mediums used. Together we all looked deeply into some of the many beautiful paintings... which gave us lots of historical clues about the time period. We hope there will be lots of discussion tonight and that your children will eagerly share their special day with you.
It goes without saying, all of our kids made Miss Lemar and myself very proud. They were courteous, calm, interested, enthusiastic and very respectful throughout. Thank you to Miss Lemar who helped me enormously by organising the trip this year - you did a grand job.

Please do come into school to see the children's wire creations as they are so good. The children will be teaching the wire sculpting skills they learned with the rest of the children in their classes during our next Art Festival week. We can't wait.
