Year 2 Outdoor Week update
Year 2 have continued to be busy outdoors this week. On Wednesday children were out identifying which trees grow in our woodland, recognising the leaves which link to class doors. Throughout the rest of the week the children have been great at noticing and discussing similarities and differences of the leaves they have found, making suggestions as to which tree it could have come from. Children also went on a journey around the woodlands in order to create a journey crown. As they walked around they had to collect items to put into their crown; some of the designs were very adventurous!
Yesterday it was Sycamore's turn to go to the Scout Hut. They certainly enjoyed their day; they collected wood in order to build a fire so that they could cook sausages and marshmallows. They also had to persevere and challenge themselves when climbing the rock climbing wall. Despite a few 'I can't do its' everyone continued to try and with every turn got a step higher on the wall. It was lovely to see the children encouraging one another on, being supportive if they didn't succeed the first time and seeing other children come out of their comfort zone or thrive from the challenge.
Everyone (adults included!) should certainly be tired by the end of this week; it has certainly been a busy but fun and memorable one.
Have a look at the pictures to see what a great week it has been.
