On Friday, Year 2 travelled back to 1666 and visited coffee houses so that they could share their diaries about the Great Fire of London. Children had worked hard on their diaries, recounting the events of the fire and how they felt. They then visited the coffee house where they paid 1p to have a mug of hot chocolate and a biscuit whilst they read their diaries to each other. There were some great people who visited, including Samuel Pepys, Jane the maid and the Mayor of London to name but a few guests! Children enjoyed reading to each other and could then ask each other questions about how they felt witnessing this enormous catastrophe!
