Grandparents Tea Party in Year 1!
Year 1 had a fantastic time welcoming their grandparents and special adults into school to celebrate the end of their “Toys” topic. The children were so proud to share their learning, talking about toys from the past and comparing them to the toys we enjoy today.
It was a lovely event where toys through time could be explored, played with and discussed. We had a special display table filled with a variety of toys and artefacts from different eras, many of which linked to our earlier visit from Mr Cushing. The children enjoyed showing these to their adults and playing games alongside them during the morning.
It was lovely seeing children and their adults playing together – trying out traditional toys, sharing memories, and celebrating learning side by side. It was a wonderful way to bring our topic to an end.
A huge thank you to all the grandparents and special adults who joined us and helped make the event such a memorable occasion for our Year 1 children!
