Year 1 had a fantastic trip to Windsor Castle on Monday, as part of their topic: Kings, Queens and Castles. Windsor Castle was very busy with lots of tourists, however the children were great at listening to and following instructions so that we could see St George's Chapel, the grounds and the Castle itself.

During the visit we visited Queen Elizabeth II's resting place, looked at the motte and bailey style castle and viewed a variety of grand rooms with glistening gold decoration. Children were particularly interested in the paintings on the ceilings in some of the rooms as well as the shiny swords and armour! Some children asked lots of questions about the Great Fire of 1992 and how the rooms were restored.

Children did brilliantly with all the walking and despite being a hot day, many still had energy for their coach ride home!
