Year 3 Iron Age Day
Year 3 had a fantastic day exploring life in the Iron Age! Iron Age Matt began with an engaging talk about the journey from the Stone Age to the Iron Age, bringing along fascinating artefacts for the children to investigate. The pupils learned how Iron Age people dressed and even got to hold replica shields, spears and swords.
Throughout the day, the children rotated through hands-on activities - grinding flour with a quern stone, examining furs and animal skins. In the afternoon, everyone took part in warrior training, practising with foam swords and spears and the children even got to create their own Iron Age shields.
It was an exciting and memorable day that brought our new history topic to life!
