Year 5 - Step Back in Time with Ancient Egypt
Year 5 enjoyed an exciting Play-in-a-Day workshop, Ancient Egypt: History’s Mystery, led by Treehouse Theatre. The children were fully immersed in their history topic as they explored life in Ancient Egypt through drama and performance.
The day began with a whole-cast assembly, followed by a series of engaging workshops focusing on key themes such as mummification, the role of scribes, the Amarna Dynasty and Cleopatra’s Egypt. Every child had the opportunity to take on a role and contribute to the performance.
In the afternoon, the children took part in voice work and warm-up activities before coming together for the final performance. It was wonderful to see the confidence, enthusiasm and teamwork they showed as they brought their learning to life on stage.
We are extremely proud of Year 5 for the focus, resilience and creativity they demonstrated throughout the day. The experience has been a memorable and enriching way to support their learning in history.
