On Monday 18th January 12 children took part in an athletics competition at Costello. They each had to compete in a throwing event, jumping event, sprint and a relay. The children have been practising hard on Wednesday mornings before school (8am!) to get ready for the competition.

All of the children that took part represented the school excellently and I was very proud of their behaviour, positive attitude, determination and sportsmanship on the day. Great Binfields finished in fifth position with some excellent high scores. A very well done to Malacki who finished first in the three length sprint as well as finishing second, along with his partner Jasper, in the boys 2x2 length relay. Malacki also finished first in the triple jump, his final jump measuring in at a whopping 5.42m. Madison jumped 4.44m in the girls event finishing forth, with Emily coming second in the target throw.

Unfortunately we didn't get through to the final but a successful afternoon of sport was had by all.
