Our Christmas display is now up at Tesco and the wonderful work was produced by our Year Three pupils.
They have been looking at the work of William Morris, who lived and worked during the Victorian era. After finding out a bit more about him, they looked at some of the key characteristics his art work became renowned for. During the mid-1860s, William Morris concentrated on designing wallpaper. His patterns were inspired by the natural world, and these are some of his best-known works of art. Our Year Threes imitated this style when creating these Christmas stocking designs.
A famous William Morris quote is:
"Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful."
We quite agree!
When you're next around at the Chineham Shopping Centre, pop in and have a look!
