KS1 Skipping Competition
On Wednesday afternoon Miss Rogers and I took 8 nervous year 2 children to their very first competition. The children took part in 3 different skipping events, each one worth points towards the schools total. Some children had to skip with a single rope individually as many times as they could, others had to skip over a long rope turned by sports leaders both individually and in pairs, while some had to keep their cool in front of two judges with a free style routine. The children did brilliantly with these routines showing hops, hopscotch, criss-cross and even backwards skipping. Their execution was exceptional and they did themselves as well as the school proud.
A big well done to all the children involved.
