On Tuesday the children of Rowan and Birch Classes celebrated Pancake Day. We had lots of fun mixing up the batter and watching the pancakes be made. All the children were then given opportunity to tuck in and enjoy a pancake with either sugar, lemon or maple syrup! Back in class we learned about why we have Pancake Day and discovered that it is also called Shrove Tuesday. We looked at how other countries celebrate Shrove Tuesday and were surprised to see that not everyone has pancakes. To finish the day we learnt a poem about pancakes which the children were keen to share with their families at home.
