Today was Roman Day in Year 4 & we even had the Roman weather to go with it! The children looked absolutely fab in their outfits and really got into the activities. In the morning, we learnt about mosaics, finding out abut why the Romans had them and how they were made. We then created our own using coloured card - the outcomes were great! In the afternoon, we looked at Roman and Celt shields, thinking about the symbolism of the designs. We then designed our own, using metallic paint to add vibrant colour. We have had a great day and look forward to learning more about Celts & Romans in the next few weeks.
