Year 6 Smash SATs Week 2024
Tue 14 May 2024What a way to end SATs week! Year 6 had a cracking time at Atmosphere Trampoline Park this afternoon celebrating the completion of their tests and boy did they deserve it. It was the perfect afternoon to let off a bit of steam and ‘bounce’ off the worries of the week. We are so pleased that they all enjoyed a fantastic afternoon and were able to make special memories with their friends.
The Year 6 children have been absolutely incredible this week; we are SO proud of their determination to succeed, superb Growth Mindset and never-ending perseverance to demonstrate how brilliant they are. We hope they are feeling very chuffed of themselves for all they have achieved this week. SATs Breakfast Club went down a storm as always and the bacon and egg rolls were a real hit amongst the crowds. The children have also been incredible at showing their appreciation for all the staff who have kindly rallied around to support us this week. A big thank you to just a few people who have helped make the week as smooth, motivational and as successful as possible: the wonderful team in the kitchen who came into school super early to ensure we all had a cooked breakfast roll; Costello Secondary School who have lent us their minibuses so that our travel to Atmosphere was as smooth as possible; all the amazing staff and children at Great Binfields who have been so patient with waiting for a slightly later break time or for helping support the children through their SATs tests; and of course, to Miss Lyddon and Mrs Holdsworth for providing motivational treats and rallying us together for a stress-free week. Equally, thank you to all of the parents and carers of the Year 6 children who have been working behind the scenes to support their children in the build up to SATs but also helping to calm nerves, listen to worries and provide motivational pick me ups throughout the week. What a team effort!
Here is a collection of photos for you to see how much fun we have had this week in amongst the tests 😊

Year 3 visit to Fishbourne Roman Palace
Mon 13 May 2024On Friday we had a wonderful day visiting Fishbourne Roman Palace. We were lucky enough to take part in a Roman workshop where Tom (our guide) gave us a very informative talk about Roman life. We explored a traditional Roman kitchen, learnt how to write Roman numerals and letters on wax and papyrus, tried spinning wool into thread and even built a free standing bridge with wooden blocks. The children had fun exploring the beautiful Roman garden with lots of curious herbs to smell and a museum with interesting artefacts.
We all want to say a huge thank you to the parent volunteers who joined us on the trip, we couldn’t have done it without you.
