The children had to think really carefully about making their stitching neat and tidy and adding suitable embellishments. • Year 2 Visit the Titanic museum!

    Thu 29 Jan 2026

Year 2 had a fantastic day at the Titanic Museum! We enjoyed discovering real artefacts and learning more about the Titanic disaster and the lasting significance it has had on our lives today. The children took part in a brilliant guided tour, followed by a busy, hands-on workshop, and then had time to explore the museum in small groups. It was a super fun and engaging way to celebrate and deepen our learning outside the classroom.

  • Year 2 topic launch- The Titanic!

    Mon 05 Jan 2026

Today, Year 2 launched their new Titanic topic with an immersive experience in the school hall, which was transformed into the Titanic itself. The children were given different tickets at random, which determined the class they would travel in.

First Class passengers enjoyed a luxurious experience with beautifully laid tables and Haribo as their snack. Second Class sat on mats and were given custard creams, while Third Class had much less space and a simple rich tea biscuit.

Throughout the morning, the children compared the different classes and discussed how passengers’ experiences varied depending on where they travelled. They also began learning about the timeline of the Titanic, making it a memorable and engaging start to the topic.
