  • Year 1 Secret Garden Adventure

Fri 20 May 2016 Miss Rogers

Our Year 1 children had a super afternoon pretending to be in a secret garden which was actually our woodland. The Year 1 team and a super group of volunteers set up various activities around the woodland for the children to complete and they also had a picnic which was fabulous. It was lovely seeing the children have their freedom in our woodland - choosing which activities to have a go at. It was a lovely afternoon and the weather was really kind to us.

    Check out the pictures below:

  • Golf for Year 2

Wed 18 May 2016 Miss Rogers

Our Year 2 enjoyed a golf session with Mr Holman from ProGolf today. We haven't been lucky with the weather but we had the session inside and the children responded really well. Today they were learning about using the putt correctly for directional and power shots.

    Photos will be added shortly.

  • JUMP JUMP JUMP!!!

Fri 13 May 2016 Miss Rogers

Today, our Year 6 and members of their team had a wonderful time at Jump in Daneshill despite being absolutely shattered afterwards! Smiles all round and some daring moves. This activity was a treat for having a superb mindset this week during their SATs. The children tried their best throughout the week making a huge effort and encouraging one another.

You should be proud everyone and I'm so glad that this afternoon was a real hit for you.

  • Kiddie Konga

Thu 12 May 2016 Miss Rogers
Our Year 6 children had an amazing session with Amanda Doig on Tuesday afternoon. Kiddie Konga is a great way to get your heart rate going and boy, our children worked out! Immense fun but they got very sweaty. Thank you Amanda, a great way to keep fit. It was great to see how the children progressed so quickly within the session.
  • SATs breakfast fun.

Thu 12 May 2016 Miss Rogesr

Our Year 6 children have come into school early, every morning this week to enjoy having breakfast with their year 6 class mates. We do this so they can relax, have a chat and get into the right mindset before they embark on their assessments for the day. It has great observing them having lots of fun as well as hearing some of the conversations!

The children have made us incredibly proud, trying their best and I do really think that the social time first thing has helped out with this.

Thank you to our Year 5/6 team who have been coming in extra early each morning to set the hall up and serve the kids breakfast after getting the huge shop in their own time. You are all stars!

Here are a few pictures of them enjoying themselves

  • New build news and access at the start and end of the school day

Fri 29 Apr 2016 Mrs Worgan

    Dear Parents/Carers

On Tuesday 3 May our new staff car park will be in use.  The entrance for this is via Pyotts Copse so there is going to be additional traffic on this residential road.  If you currently use Pyotts Copse to park your car, could you please consider using either the South Car Park at the Chineham Shopping Centre or the outside tennis court at the Hampshire Court Hotel.  We are aware that there have been near misses on Pyotts Copse, particularly at the entrance from the mini roundabout on Great Binfields Road as this access road was not designed to have vehicles parked on it.

The first layby on Binfields Farm Lane is needed for vehicles bringing our VI and PD children to school, and also for external providers who bring children from Breakfast Clubs or collect them for after school care.  We also need to ensure this layby is kept clear for any emergency vehicles like ambulances or fire engines who may need to attend any incident at school.

We are very grateful to the parents who have started leaving their cars away from the immediate vicinity of school and who are walking the short distance from the parking we have arranged.  Your cooperation is helping to keep our school a safe place at the start and end of the day.

We have now come to the end of phase 1 of the project and you will see a lot more activity on Binfields Farm Lane from Tuesday as this will become the main hub for the contractors Balfour Beatty.  Exciting times - the next New Build Newsletter will be issued shortly giving you more information.

    Kind regards

    Mrs Worgan

  • Football Mad - KS1 Football Tournament

Fri 29 Apr 2016 Miss Lemar
A massive congratulations to the 8 Key Stage 1 children, who represented the school at the football tournament this afternoon. Just as we arrived the rain started, however this soon stopped and the children were very keen to get going. The children played 4 games in total, they lost 3 and won one - a great achievement for them and a great goal scored. I was very proud with how the children conducted themselves, they demonstrated great sportsmanship, determination, encouragement and teamwork. Everyone left the tournament with their head held high and keen to start practising for the next event!! It was also super to see so many of our families there supporting the children - thank you everyone. Miss Lemar
  • Quad Athletics Bronze

Fri 29 Apr 2016 Miss Rogers
A fabulous day for our Quad Athletics Team. 8 children competed in howler throws, long jump, 600m run,  a 75mm sprint and a team relay event too. They did ever so well  and Miss Grainger was incredibly proud of them. We just need to practice passing the baton in the relay!! Thank you to the team - pat yourselves on the back as we achieved a bronze medal. The children will receive their medals in a forthcoming Merit Assembly.
