  • Bikeability

Mon 11 Jul 2016 Miss Collins

Year 6 had a 'wheely' good time at Bikeability this morning learning about: bike safety, the Highway Code and bike maintenance. Today they cycled around the playground, perfecting their signalling and emergency stops but tomorrow they will be venturing onto the roads!

  • Year 3/4 Stone Age Day

Thu 07 Jul 2016 Miss Wright
On Monday Year 3/4 had a fantastic Stone Age Day! It was an opportunity for the children to dress up and share some of the experiences of these pre-historic hunter gatherers. The activities included: stew cooking on an open fire in the woods, cave painting, mock teeth and bone jewellery making and creating their own Stonehenge using biscuits. Have a look at some of our photos from the day.
  • Smoothies

Wed 06 Jul 2016 Miss Collins

Today, Year 5 and 6 have been having lots of fun making fruit smoothies. They had to think carefully about the quantities of fruit needed and which fruits would taste good together. As well as this, they had to be extra careful using knives to chop the fruit (luckily there were no injuries!)

  • Induction Day Success

Tue 05 Jul 2016 Miss Rogers

Today our children in Years R to 5 met their new class teacher and LSAs and they spent time in their new classrooms. I am pleased to report that all of our teachers have reported that our children made a very good first impression and they tried their hardest throughout the day.

This morning, I led an assembly with Miss Lyddon where we shared our plans for next year as well as outlined the events we have planned that they have lots to look forward to.

Tue 05 Jul 2016 Lois Finnimore

Eggars Secondary School is having a community Art Week called ‘Alton L!ve’. This has obtained some funding from The Mouth and Foot Painting Artists (MFPA) Trust Fund to enable Junior & Secondary school children with special needs to be part of this fantastic event. In total, seven children from Great Binfields enjoyed taking part in a range of activities yesterday at Eggars School.

The activities included: a drumming workshop, painting a mug and creating a willow sculpture! They also got to meet the Mouth and Foot Artist - Tom Yendall and work with him throughout the day.

The children had a great day - check out some of the pictures below!

Fri 01 Jul 2016 Miss Collins
Yesterday, Year 6 took a trip to Winchester University for their graduation. All of the children looked really smart dressed up in their caps and gowns! As well as this, they also got taken on a tour around the university and took part in a university quiz.  It was a lovely celebration of a successful year for all!
