  • Christmas Fair Success

Sat 03 Dec 2016 Miss Rogers

A huge thank you to all of you who came to support our Christmas Fair last Friday evening. It was so busy and it was great seeing our children pulling their families around each of the stalls. I'm sure you will agree that despite being cramped because of our current building works, the Friends of Great Binfields managed to pop on a fabulous event for us all to enjoy. I really enjoyed the opening - our choir sang beautifully around our lovely Christmas tree. Thank you to Balfour Beatty, our contractors for donating this by the way, it was really nice of them to do so. There were so many lovely things to buy at the fair; some great new games to play; the raffle prizes were amazing and our newly adapted Santa experience really worked well too.

I have sent our FOGB members all thank you letters for their efforts but I would like to publically thank them for their continued support. It is not an easy task putting on an event that is so big in our yearly calendar. There is lots of prior planning, organising, advertising, canvassing, purchasing, persuading and last minute logistically problems to solve too. You have all done a grand job and we appreciate the fact that you all go above and beyond for our children.

We raised a phenomenal sum, exceeding last years' total... we still have a few expenses to clear but it will be around £2000 which is superb. I will let you know the final total when I find out.

  • EYFS Nativity - More lovely photos for you

Thu 01 Dec 2016 Miss Rogers

As promised here are some more photos of your super stars. They did another tremendously good performance again today. One of our governors, Maggie Chiverton came to watch the play and this is what she said:

'It was my great joy to attend the Year R performance of A Miracle in Town this morning. I definitely consider this to be the best perk available for carrying out the role of a governor at Great Binfields. It was a beautiful retelling of the Nativity story with very accomplished performances by the actors and lovely songs sung by the whole cast of angels, stars, shepherds, Kings, camels, villagers, Mary and Joseph, not forgetting the stable animals and the donkey. A huge thank you must go to the whole Year R team for the amount of work put in and to the children for their great performance. Wishing you all a very Happy Christmas.

So well done to our fabulous children. Thanks to you all, the Christmas season has officially started!

  • Spring Term Clubs

    Thu 01 Dec 2016 Admin

    Dear Parents

Your child is bringing home a letter tonight regarding clubs for next term.

Please ensure the completed slip is returned to school no later than 12 December.  As mentioned in the letter, each club has a maximum number so places will be offered on a first come first served basis.

All forms need to be posted in the Drop Box located near the main entrance.

  • Fabulous EYFS Nativity Production

Thu 01 Dec 2016 Miss Rogers

Our EYFS children were fabulous during their first Nativity Performance. Not only did they sing the songs beautifully - they remembered all of their lines and actions too. I was astonished at how well they all did. What a super bunch of confident people we have and long may that continue!

Thank you for reminding me of the true meaning behind the Christian festival of Christmas - we do appreciate the hard work you have put into this. I hope you all feel very proud.

Thank you also to our wonderful EYFS staff team - you are truely amazing. The children are lucky to have you working with them. We are also lucky having our older children as super role models. They have assisted our younger children well - Malaki who was in charge of sound, Sarah and Max who were the lovely narrators and not forgetting Daniel and Harrison who were our lighting gurus.

One more performance to go and our children are very much looking forward to performing again.

Also more photos again tomorrow. I can't wait to see your children in action again.

I hope you enjoy the photographs we have for you today.
