Author Visit- Gigi and the Giant Ladle
Thu 03 Mar 2022Gigi and the Giant Ladle by Leanne Edney
Today our Early years children were extremely lucky to have a real life author visit them and share their book. As part of our writing week and of course World Book Day, we have been sharing our love of books and stories together. Mrs Edney (Max and Cove's mum) has written and published a wonderful story called Gigi and the Giant Ladle. This story shares similar growth mindset values and language that we promote in our school and the children loved listening to the story and joining in throughout the book. I am sure that the children will be able to share parts of the story with you, especially the part where Gigi shouts 'I've got it!' Thank you so very much for coming in and sharing such a fantastic story with the children and we look forward to more stories in the future.

Pancake Day
Wed 02 Mar 2022On Tuesday the children of Rowan and Birch Classes celebrated Pancake Day. We had lots of fun mixing up the batter and watching the pancakes be made. All the children were then given opportunity to tuck in and enjoy a pancake with either sugar, lemon or maple syrup! Back in class we learned about why we have Pancake Day and discovered that it is also called Shrove Tuesday. We looked at how other countries celebrate Shrove Tuesday and were surprised to see that not everyone has pancakes. To finish the day we learnt a poem about pancakes which the children were keen to share with their families at home.
