  • Hampshire Primary Prom Experience

Tue 03 Jul 2018 Ms Rogers
Today some of our Y4 children were invited to attend The Anvil to listen to a select group of HMS ensembles made up of Hampshire Primary School pupils. It was fantastic.  Our children thought everyone concerned put a huge amount of effort into their performances and thoroughly enjoyed the music they played. A big thank you to the Anvil, Hampshire Music Service, the pupils who played and sang for us and our very own Mrs Irons for organising the event.
  • Gemma and Tia's visit from Sparsholt

Tue 03 Jul 2018 Mrs Osborne and Miss Hunt

Today, Year 5 and 6 had two visitors in from Sparsholt Agricultural College where the school bunnies (Bluebell and Buttercup) were bought from.

Gemma and Tia delivered an excellent talk which included how to look after rabbits and how to care for them if they seem unwell. They also taught us about which foods are healthy for a rabbit and which foods need to be eaten in moderation. Did you know that an apple is the equivalent to a rabbit as a cake to a human and a carrot is equivalent to a chocolate bar due to all the natural sugars?! Another interesting fact we found out was that although most people think that rabbits only have 4 teeth, they in fact have 28!

Gemma and Tia were very impressed with the accommodation we have provided for our bunnies and also how well the children have cared for them so far. Take a look at the photos to see what we got up to...

  • Take Over Day

Mon 02 Jul 2018 Ms Rogers

Today many of our children took over the adults' job roles and the adults became the students alongside the other children. Some children were extremely well prepared whereas others were simply winging it!! It was great to see the children trying to being creative with their activity ideas - many of which tried to fit their ideas in with our year group topics. I even had Katy F and Harrison H shadowing me.

Check out the photos below of the children taking charge... and yes the kids found it hard gaining the attention of their peers/adults at times. Now they know how the adults feel on a daily basis!! Ha ha !

  • Streets Ahead Session for Y2 Children

Fri 29 Jun 2018 Ms Rogers

Well done to our children who did really well with their Streets Ahead session with some of our staff and volunteers this week. You did so well and as a result you are all now better equipped to cross roads safely. Make sure you remember the top safety tips that were shared. Thank you to our lovely staff and volunteers who enabled this valuable life skill session to happen. We do appreciate it.

  • Year 4 Celt & Roman Day

Fri 29 Jun 2018 Miss Corcoran

We all had a fantastic day today dressed as Celts and Romans and had fun doing many activities. Using photos of ourselves we designed traditional Celtic woads, using blue paint – did you know that the Celts were fierce warriors that painted themselves blue during battles to scare off the enemy especially the Romans? During the afternoon, we each designed a Celt or Roman shield then made one out of cardboard and painted them carefully selecting our colours to match those of the Celts or Romans.

Have a look through our pictures to see our outfits and creations!

  • Sycamore at the scout hut

    Thu 28 Jun 2018

Today it was the turn of Sycamore to go to the scout hut. The class really enjoyed being in the outside and experiencing new things. The class were split into two groups. Half of the group did the climbing wall, where we had to use our courage to climb up and try and ring the bell at the time. The other half learnt how to build a fire and they then got to cook their own sausage and roast marshmallows.

The children had a great day and they all seemed really excited by the challenges. We really appreciate all the members of the scout team that volunteered to help us.

  • Year 5/6 Fire Service Visit

Thu 28 Jun 2018 Mrs Osborne and Miss Hunt

Today the Year 5/6 children had a visit from two representatives from the Hampshire Fire Service. The children learnt all about fire safety in the home and road safety (which included bike safety). Some important pieces of advice given included:

    - keep your bedroom tidy to ensure a safe exit route should a fire start!

    - put your bags and shoes away when getting home from school so it is easy to get out of the front door.

    - no arguing with siblings or parents when in the car as this can distract the driver.

We we hope the children have enjoyed learning lots of saving tips today and listening to two very inspirational firefighters. They have certainly listened closely and been very respectful.

  • Sports Day Results

Wed 27 Jun 2018 Ms Rogers

Red had the victory of getting 1st place, with green coming 2nd, yellow were next in 3rd place and blue were troopers in 4th position.

The children all worked really hard and showed great teamwork so we are all really proud of them.

    Congratulations Red Team!!!

  • Ash and Pine enjoy 'The Romans are Coming!' - A play in a day!

    Tue 26 Jun 2018

    The Romans Are Coming!!!

Today Year 4 had Treehouse Theatre come in to teach us more about the Celts and Romans through drama. We split into groups to show different times in the history of the Roman Empire. Each group practised their parts and learnt their lines and then this afternoon we all came together to perform the play. Once we got into our costumes and had our props, we began our play with where the Romans first tried to invade Britannia. Travelling through time, we met different emperors, had many battles between Celts and Romans, came across Boudicca and built Hadrian’s Wall! We all had an amazing time and the children thoroughly enjoyed it. It was lovely to see the children take on their parts so well and learn more about the Roman Empire. We hope you enjoy looking through the photos!

  • Willow Class at the Scout Hut

Tue 26 Jun 2018 Miss Wright
Today Willow Class had a fantastic start to their Outdoor Week with a trip to Chineham Scout Hut. The class was divided into two groups to complete two different activities, they then swapped. One group took part in some outdoor cooking on an open fire, whilst the other had a go at the climbing wall. All children had a go at the wall and showed brilliant perseverance, each time beating their personal best. The trip was thoroughly enjoyed by all and we are very grateful to Mr Wood, Mrs Ellis and the other scout leaders for giving up their time.
