  • Sports Day Success

Fri 22 Jun 2018 Ms Rogers

Today was a great day for so many reasons... all of our children achieved so many personal bests whilst competing in a huge number of different events such as relay, overarm throw, long jump, sack race, flat race, hurdles and cross country. The weather was also perfect and our school community was certainly united in happiness. A wonderful day - thank you everyone.

We look forward to our team events on Monday and then we will add up all of the scores to find out who this year's Team Winners are.

I hope you enjoy the photos below.

  • Anvil Performances

Tue 19 Jun 2018 Ms Rogers

The performance tonight was absolutely incredible. As usual the singing, dancing and playing of instruments sent tingles down my spine. I felt so, so proud of what the children had achieved. You were all amazing. I know our staff involved in the project and the children’s parents/grandparents felt the same way too.

The theme this year was ‘Around The World’ and we were treated to a feast of wonderful experiences throughout the performance.

I know tomorrow night will go just as well as you have really tried hard to learn your words, moves and notes!

A huge thank you to our wonderful team who work on the project each year. Mrs Irons was heavily involved in the orchestral part of the performance and should be very proud of her own achievements. A huge thank you for what you do. It doesn’t go unnoticed. Mrs Osborne has been working with her dance troop for months to perfect the routine and this could be clearly seen and what an honour it was start to launch the show. Well done and I know the children really appreciate the time you have given to them. Finally thank you to Miss Khan who always works so hard with our KS2 choir to learn the songs inside and out.

  • Year 2 Beach Day

    Tue 19 Jun 2018
In Year 2 today, as part of our Wish You Were Here topic, we took part in a beach themed day. The children were allowed to dress in beach style clothing and undertook a range of activities. They created beach hut collages, discussed and explored historical artefacts from the seaside through time, built sandcastles and engaged in water play. A great day was had by all!
  • Day 2 - Hawthorn Class (Y3) Residential Photo update

Fri 15 Jun 2018 Ms Rogers

Ok... we have been snapping away again today. The children explored Chichester Cathedral,  did crab hunting at Emsworth beach before having a picnic lunch at Nore Barn Woods. The children then boarded a solar boat and had a tour around the harbour. Another perfect day with super weather again. Oh and the children may be asking to borrow some binoculars - they loved using them this afternoon.

I bet they were shattered tonight and not up for sharing their trip news... but I hope the pictures posted over the last couple of days open up conversations with you and your family.

  • EYFS Dad's Afternoon

Fri 15 Jun 2018 Miss Khan
This afternoon Rowan and Birch classes had their annual Dad's Afternoon.  The children had been very excited all week and were all bursting by the time their dad's actually arrived!  There were several activities for everyone to complete, these included cooking marshmallows, building newspaper towers, paper aeroplanes and decorating biscuits.  It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved and there were plenty of smiles on everyone's faces throughout the afternoon.  We hope that all the dads had a great afternoon and enjoyed their early Father's Day treat.

  • We are at the Novium

Thu 14 Jun 2018 Ms Rogers

After a great day exploring and playing in the houses and buildings at the Weald and Downland Museum, we have arrived at The Novium Museum in the centre of Chichester. The sun even came out for us and we have had such a lovely day so far.

We have had our tea, unpacked the minibuses and we are now ready to start our next adventure. Firstly, we will be having a torch lit treasure hunt, then there will be a building activity followed by a craft activity. Before bedtime, the children will enjoy a story and then it will be bed. Very exciting!!!

Check out some of the pictures from today.

  • Photos from Hazel Class - The Night at the Museum.

Tue 12 Jun 2018 Ms Rogers

The kids are having a wail of a time and are full of beans! They have certainly learned lots of facts and were very interested in what the volunteers at The Weald and Downland Museum were sharing with them all.

Tonight, the kids enthusiasm hasn't wavered. They are currently doing craft and art activities and are loving it.
