Fri 20 Jul 2018 Ms Rogers

Wow what a brilliant night !!! So lovely to see you all enjoying yourselves this evening. A lovely way to end the school year and I just want to reiterate a huge thank you to all of you for your support.

A big thanks to my wonderful staff team who attended this evening even though they are all exhausted from what has been a very busy term... they’re still smiling and I’m so appreciative of them giving up a Friday evening for our school.

I’m so appreciative of The Ukelele Band, Moana, SCL team, Premier Sport, Paul our Judo Guru, our orchestra and dancers for their commitment to our school too. You really added something special to the evening.

I’m sure you will also agree that the biggest ‘thank you’ must go to our fabulous FOGB who have put on a such a great event... the best GBP Summer BBQ yet!!! You are all super stars and have brought our school community even closer!! You should be so proud. ;))))

  • Congratulations Anna!

Fri 20 Jul 2018 Miss Khan

Today we found out the results of our annual Binfields Got Talent competition.  Earlier in the term the acts had been selected by their year groups through class auditions. Then on Monday afternoon the whole school went in to watch ten amazing acts give it their all, as they tried to win the votes for Binfields Got Talent.  We had an amazing range of talents from Year R up to Year 6 including gymnastics, dancing, singing, guitar playing, magic tricks, comedy and Shakespeare recitals.  Following the show, the children went back to class to vote for their winner, which was then revealed in assembly this morning.  Everyone who took part did brilliantly and it was very difficult to pick a winners.

This year our top three act were:

Third Place - Lara singing Never Enough from The Greatest Showman.

Second Place - Ben G, guitar playing.

First Place - Anna , magic tricks.

A huge well done to everyone who took part.

  • Year 6 Leavers' Activities at Christchurch

Thu 19 Jul 2018 Ms Rogers
Our children really enjoyed the activities Mrs Katy Lowe, the church youth leader planned for them today. Each activity needed a value to be exercised in order for it to work. I'm pleased to say the children did well and enjoyed the experience immensely. Thank you Katy for planning a lovely time for them all and well done to all of the children.
  • Year 2 End of Year Assembly

Thu 19 Jul 2018 Miss Rogers

We had a real treat this afternoon as our Year 2  children shared some of their favourite moments since starting at our school and then cleverly compared various sweets and chocolates to our school values and ethos. You ended the assembly with a lovely rendition of one of the tracks from The Greatest Showman - it was sung so sweetly.  It certainly made us quite emotional but they were happy tears. A huge well done to you all and we very much hope that you are looking forward to many more exciting learning opportunities as you enter Key Stage 2.

  • KS2 Cinderella Rockerfella Phenomenon!!!

Thu 19 Jul 2018 Ms Rogers

Words can not describe how incredibly proud and happy we felt over the past 2 evenings when we watched the KS2 performance of Cinderella Rockerfella. We were all blown away by the quality of singing , dancing and acting throughout the show. This year all of our children excelled and surpassed our expectations and the feedback from our school community has been phenomenal - I'm not at all surprised! Children you are all superstars.... a massive congratulations - I hope you are feeling chuffed with yourselves and a huge thank you to our school staff team involved... without your dedication and commitment, our kids would not have been able to shine.

    Enjoy the photographs below.

  • Year One Golden Time

Wed 18 Jul 2018 Miss Hanafin
Today the children in Year One had Golden Time. Our final Summer Golden Time is always held in our own classes and the children chose to have a big play outside on the adventure trail and riding around on bikes and scooters from home. We also took out our new KS1 trikes. The children loved playing together and showing off their skills. Mrs Harvey and Miss Hanafin might even have had a sneaky go! What a lovely way to spend our final week together.
  • Year One Outdoor Week

Mon 16 Jul 2018 Miss Hanafin

Last week was Year One Outdoor Week. It really is one of the highlights of our year and the children were so excited to get stuck in. Throughout the week, we were lucky enough to have the scout leaders come and join us to lead three special activities; shelter building, tracking and cooking. The children learnt lots of great skills such as knot tying, essentials for shelter, what symbols mean when tracking and how to build a fire. Equally, they got to see their skills of team work, determination, perseverance and many more in action. So many of the children loved testing out whether their shelters had worked and whether or not the weather would mean we got a little wet. Tracking around Chineham was so much fun, especially jumping out on everyone when we were found. The sausages and marshmallows were definitely the favourite of the week though. The scout leaders really were wonderful at getting the children to be active and involved in their learning - how lucky we are that they take the time to visit us.

When we were not with the scouts, the children took part in a huge range of activities. We searched for minibeasts all around our woods and outside grounds, we drew snapshot sketches of small and detailed parts of our grounds, we wrote minibeast riddles, we created a 'listening map' of what sounds we could hear outside and much, much more. The children had lots of opportunities to get a little adventurous with their learning and test out their ability to problem solve and communicate effectively with eachother.

The children were so enthusiastic and happy to get involved with all of the activities - possibly coming home a little bit more mucky than when they arrived! Thank you again to everyone involved in putting Outdoor Week together and well done children for your fantastic learning.
