  • Easy Fundraising For Schools

Sun 30 Sep 2018 Ms Rogers

Did you know that whenever you buy anything online - from your weekly shop to your annual holiday - you could be raising a free donation for Great Binfields Primary School? There are nearly 3,000 retailers including Amazon, John Lewis, Aviva, thetrainline and Sainsbury's, who will donate a percentage of the amount you spend to Great Binfields Primary School to say thank you for shopping with them.

It's really simple, and doesn't cost you anything.

All you have to do is:

    1. Go to http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/greatbinfieldsprimaryschool

    2. Sign up for free

    3. Get shopping - your donations will be collected by easyfundraising and automatically sent to Great Binfields Primary School. It couldn't be easier!

There are no catches or hidden charges and Great Binfields Primary School will be really grateful for your donations. Please feel free to pass this onto your friends and family members.  The more people we have using this, the more funds we will receive for our children.

    Thank you for your support.

  • Harvest Display at Tesco

Thu 27 Sep 2018 Ms Rogers

Thank you KS1 children for creating these superb scarecrows for the Tesco Harvest Display. Mrs Harvey must have had fun popping these up for everyone to see and admire. I think they are brilliant and would definitely do the job of scaring away birds trying to eat the seeds/crops. I hope you will all go and see them too. They are on the window just opposite the opticians.

  • EYFS have been busy playing

Tue 25 Sep 2018 Ms Rogers

Our new EYFS children have all in been in school now for 3 weeks and I must say, they have made an incredible start. The vast majority have settled extremely well and are enjoying the activities planned for them each day. It has been lovely seeing our new children bond with our EYFS team as well as the rest of the school during their free time at lunchtimes. So, so many of our older children have been great role models and have been so kind and caring when our new children have needed a little assistance. I am sure that their parents are finding that they are extremely tired when they get home as they have been very busy at school.

  • Year 1 Farm Visit

Thu 13 Sep 2018 Ms Rogers and Mrs Harvey
The children in Y1 really enjoyed and learned so much yesterday from their farm visit. The children asked so many great questions as well as answered lots of the questions posed too. This visit really helps our Y1 children get into their 'Food and Farming' topic and as you can imagine, they absolutely loved grooming and petting our visitors! It was great to see. Can you remember any facts we learnt from our visit? Such as, the name of a female goat, chicken, pig and sheep? We really pleased with the politeness the children showed towards the visitors and were very lucky that the rain held for us!
  • Year Four Topic Launch

Thu 06 Sep 2018 Miss Hanafin and Miss Grove
Today the children have had a busy morning launching our Scrumdiddlyumptious topic. We have had some Charlie and The Chocolate Factory inspired activities where the children have been designing and creating their own factory advertisement posters, complete with a tag line showing why it is such an exciting place. They have also been doing blindfolded ingredient tasting - some ingredients were sweet, some were salty and some were surprising! Mr Wood definitely tried to trick some of us with what we were eating. We have also been creating our own chocolate bars by melting down chocolate and working as a team to choose three delicious toppings. Some of us have had the chance to explore our new role play area which is a Sweet Shop theme. The children have had a brilliant morning with lots of fun. This afternoon they will be thinking a bit more about where chocolate comes from. Have a look at the pictures to see what we have been up to - maybe you can try some of these activities at home.
  • Welcome back children

Mon 03 Sep 2018 Ms Rogers

All of our children have settled back in to school very well today and they made a very good first impression. It was lovely hearing about their summer holiday news and getting excited about chatting and meeting with their friends again.

As a staff, we really have missed them all so it is lovely seeing our school full of children once gain.

Here are a few pictures from today...more will follow.
