  • School Choir Sings to raise funds for Autistic Society

Wed 09 Dec 2015 Miss Rogers

Today our Choir did us proud here at Great Binfields as the children sang beautifully in Festival Place. They were there to support The Autistic Society as this is a good fundraising opportunity for them.

Thank you for your support children and I hope that you all feel chuffed with yourselves. Miss Khan and Miss Lyddon thought you tried really hard - well done to you all.

  • Christmas Nativity Brings Tears To Our Eyes

Mon 07 Dec 2015 Miss Rogers

Our EYFS children did tremendously well this morning as they performed the Nativity story to their Family and Friends. The children sang beautifully, acted wonderfully and said their lines with gusto. It was lovely to see them beam with pride and be so confident. They impressed us all and helped us to remember why we celebrate Christmas. They will perform again tomorrow morning so if you ahvent been yet, you are in for a real treat!

Better photos will follow as I'll use a better camera!

  • Thank you everyone!

Fri 04 Dec 2015 Miss Rogers

Thank you to all of you who contributed and supported our Christmas Fayre this evening. It was a fabulous success and we think we have beaten last years' profit total. The Friends of Great Binfields should be immensely proud of themselves. A great result due to hard work!

  • Year 1 Food Festival

Tue 01 Dec 2015 Miss Finnimore and Miss Hanafin

Year 1 spent two weeks travelling to different countries all over the world. Each day they had a different focus which included; making postcards, writing captions for pictures they took, writing descriptions, measuring using different pasta, building their own Empire State Building and measuring these. They also created video blogs and became tour guides, both using alliteration.

We finished the two weeks with a food festival, giving children the chance to taste food from the different countries which they visited. We tried:

    - Scones and jam from England

    - Nachos and dip from Mexico

    - Polish sausage, Kopytka (Polish dumplings) and traditional Polish biscuits

    - Olives and Paella from Spain

    - Cracker bread and meat from Italy

    - French stick and cheese from France

    - Vegetable samosas and onion bhajis from India

We voted which stall we enjoyed the most - Poland was the winner!
