  • Day 2 - Hawthorn Class (Y3) Residential Photo update

Fri 15 Jun 2018 Ms Rogers

Ok... we have been snapping away again today. The children explored Chichester Cathedral,  did crab hunting at Emsworth beach before having a picnic lunch at Nore Barn Woods. The children then boarded a solar boat and had a tour around the harbour. Another perfect day with super weather again. Oh and the children may be asking to borrow some binoculars - they loved using them this afternoon.

I bet they were shattered tonight and not up for sharing their trip news... but I hope the pictures posted over the last couple of days open up conversations with you and your family.

  • EYFS Dad's Afternoon

Fri 15 Jun 2018 Miss Khan
This afternoon Rowan and Birch classes had their annual Dad's Afternoon.  The children had been very excited all week and were all bursting by the time their dad's actually arrived!  There were several activities for everyone to complete, these included cooking marshmallows, building newspaper towers, paper aeroplanes and decorating biscuits.  It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved and there were plenty of smiles on everyone's faces throughout the afternoon.  We hope that all the dads had a great afternoon and enjoyed their early Father's Day treat.

Thu 14 Jun 2018 Ms Rogers

After a great day exploring and playing in the houses and buildings at the Weald and Downland Museum, we have arrived at The Novium Museum in the centre of Chichester. The sun even came out for us and we have had such a lovely day so far.

We have had our tea, unpacked the minibuses and we are now ready to start our next adventure. Firstly, we will be having a torch lit treasure hunt, then there will be a building activity followed by a craft activity. Before bedtime, the children will enjoy a story and then it will be bed. Very exciting!!!

Check out some of the pictures from today.

Tue 12 Jun 2018 Ms Rogers

The kids are having a wail of a time and are full of beans! They have certainly learned lots of facts and were very interested in what the volunteers at The Weald and Downland Museum were sharing with them all.

Tonight, the kids enthusiasm hasn't wavered. They are currently doing craft and art activities and are loving it.

  • Year 6 Graduation

Mon 11 Jun 2018 Mrs Osborne
Year 6 had a fantastic day at Winchester University yesterday for their Junior Graduation. They began the day with a tour of the campus, a game of sitting volleyball and a quiz. This was followed by a delicious lunch and then the graduation ceremony itself. Several members of the university staff commented on how well behaved our children were, so they should be very proud of themselves. Congratulations Year 6!
  • Year 6 Bunnies!

Fri 08 Jun 2018 Mrs Osborne

After writing a fantastic set of persuasive letters to Miss Rogers, Year 6 have two new additions to their outdoor common room area - two very cute rabbits called Bluebell and Buttercup!

The rabbits have settled in really well and have enjoyed their first day at Great Binfields! Bluebell and Buttercup come from Sparsholt Agricultural College, where Mrs Osborne's friend Gemma works. In a few week's time, Gemma will be coming in to visit the Year 5 and 6 children to check how the rabbits are and to deliver a talk all about looking after them.

Here are some quotes from a few of the year 6 children:

"The bunnies are absolutely adorable and the fact I was the first boy to hold one filled me with pride!" Xander

"It is the best experience of my life! I think Bluebell loves me already!" Lewis

"They are as soft as a marshmallow cloud!" Sophie

"I think I will be good at looking after these bunnies as I already have one at home." Millie

Take a look at these photos to see the rabbits being handled...
